stop stripping it / give it a drink & a waterproof barrier
Dehydrated skin after the party season? Dealing with that tired skin a chore? Dehydrated skin all year round anyway?
“When your skin is dehydrated, and you put makeup on it, your skin will suck any thing it can from that product, and leave you with a powdery mess, plus an added bonus: it highlights your dry areas..!”
So what’s the key to battling A-round this little problem o?
THREE SIMPLE STEPS
Don’t pull that water off your face, it’s thirsty.
After washing your face, don’t dry it. Leave the water on there. (Using a cloth to wash is good because your face won’t be left dripping wet everywhere.) If you don’t have a flannel, it’s a pain in the arse to have a dripping face everywhere, so pat lightly with that towel to take that drip down.
Now let it have a drink.
Serum-ise then Moisturise over your wet skin, as it sinks in, it will act as transport for the water left on your skin, and will soak in too. Choose a skincare product with water as an ingredient, glycerine is also a good one for hydrating.
Seal the Deal.
A final step should be adding a thin layer of oil over the top of your serum and/or moisturiser because it will give you a protective layer, stopping any moisture coming out, and stopping any makeup going in. I would go for a natural oil product such as badger balm, as it’s not been over refined, it will not sink all the way in, but act as a water proof layer.
EXTRA NOTES FOR YOUR BOATS OF KNOWLEDGE
Don’t turn into an oil slick.Obviously, you don’t want your makeup slipping round your skin all day. So if you are wearing makeup, you need too add the tiniest amount possible of oil, think tacky base, not I’m going massage my boyfriend. Don’t worry, the oil will still give you a smooth surface to apply onto.
You’re on your way to the high – way.
